Ultimate quality control: the Boston Quality Center in Hamburg

The Boston Quality Center was opened in April 2014 in Hamburg, just a stone’s throw from the Steinway factory. The Quality Center is an important step in the process for Boston and Essex grand and upright pianos, with a team of Steinway-trained technicians ensuring that every single instrument is in perfect condition for its journey on to the retailer. 

Once the instruments have been crafted at the production site based on Steinway patents and under the guidance of Steinway specialists, the Boston Quality Center takes care of the finishing touches. This means that each and every grand and upright piano bearing the “designed by Steinway & Sons” mark is technically and visually perfect – staying true to founder Henry E. Steinway’s ambition “to build the best piano possible”.
